President and CEO David Marquardt and his staff are proud to be part of a strong company that has been locally owned and operated for more than 20 years. The Steam Team was voted one of Austin's Best Places to Work in 2004. Also in 2004, Marquardt was invited to join the prestigious Young Entrepreneurs Organization, an organization of business professionals under 40 years of age who are the owners, founders, co-founders, or controlling shareholders of a company with annual sales of $1 million or more. Marquardt is also the President and Founder of another local company in Austin, blue sky scrubs.

Many of The Steam Team's current customers have remained loyal since the company's founding, and have recommended the business to their friends. As the company has become more successful, The Steam Team has made community involvement a priority, becoming a major donor to the American Red Cross of Central Texas and a supporter of other worthy local organizations, including Spamarama and Austin Sunshine Camps through the Bun Run.
